Definately Neptune this time

I couldn't get it on the toucams chip with a barlow, just not bright enough. This did have the advantage of giving a bigger fov and so allowing me to pick up a couple of field stars that agree with my Star map software for the position of Neptune at about 20:45 last night, the 18th.

So this is unbarlowed at what focal length? 650mm? Great result. Are you planning to follow this up with more captures? Should be great fun to make an animation when you got a few. I did get a couple of captures of Uranus but I messed up some settings and I get 3 overlapping disks ...

Hmmm...an animation....that's good idea Themos. Any idea how long between session to see some reasonable movement?

Good work, especially as it is so low in the sky.

I did manage a capture last year, but not before my language had turned bluer than Neptunes disk.

According to my software, Neptune will stop on the 3 Nov and start going the other way, it will move about 2 arc-minutes in that time. This is a great time to image it.
