dew on my scope for the first time.... help please!

Recommended Posts

I just brought my scope in from the 30 degree (Fahrenheit), 0 degrees celsius. I noticed dew around the edges of the mirror and within a minute, the entire mirror was fogged up. I have never had dew on my scope before and I have no idea what to do. What do I do? Any advice is welcome.

I decided to use hair dryer and the fog immediately started to go away, then I used it on the tube and the back of the mirror to get everything heated to room temp. From the way the mirror looks now and what it's looked like before, I'd say I've had dew before but never noticed it. Luckily, no water streaks were left on the mirror.

But thanks both of you for your advice, and I will NEVER EVER touch the mirrors. I vowed to do that the day I bought it.
