upgraded spider vanes

Wow! Imagine if the diffraction "spikes" were of the same curved shape as the vanes?? That would look spectacular and of a somewhat spiral shape I would imagine judging by the pictures of the curved vanes that I have seen.

I actually rather like the spikes, being something of a romantic at heart.

I have curved vanes on my scopes (using steel rulers !) and the diffraction spikes disappear making for a much more refractor-like view. More accurately, the diffracted light becomes a faint halo instead of spikes and whether this makes detail on the moon and planets less contrasty and double stars less easily split, I don't know.
