A very clear frosty and dry evening rewarded us with the very best views this year. Beer and crisps were good at -4.

In the Dob at x120- x150 we watched a transit of the GRS. This had a long plume from it's top edge

and a dip to the belt in front .

A third of the disc in front was a cloud isolated with a dip in the thinner belt to the South Pole in that area. There were detailed areas of festoons to the belts and a smaller spot to the northern belt.

what was stunning was the stability and clarity of the view. We kept going back and spending some time relaxing the eye and focussing as Jupiter crossed the fov.

8mm flat field Plossl from sky's the limit and an old too cheap Uhc filter did the trick at x150 in the Lightbridge, neat,

Yes, certainly was nice last night here too (-6). The detail in Jupiter at the moment is amazing.
