Hi All,

Got some nice Jupiter data on opposition night. Bit of a shame but i could only get a clean view just before and just after the GRS had been visible.

Using the Newt with 2x barlow and 1.5x digital zoom. Capturing 2400 frames, quality weighting in PIPP to give me 1505 frames to stack from best 860 weighted.

At 5fps:-post-23032-0-85718300-1354730660_thumb.p 10fps:-post-23032-0-98363700-1354730687_thumb.p

I then increased the digital zoom to 2x.

At 5fps:-post-23032-0-23853500-1354730425_thumb.p 10fps:-post-23032-0-40294800-1354730595_thumb.p

The 5fps images are definitely better.

I had a 1st try with AS2! because this is some of the best data i've captured to date. :)

The 5fps 2x zoom with AS2!:-post-23032-0-24672600-1354730837_thumb.p

Then with the same video re-ran through PIPP without sorting, then through Registax5 as normal:-

Pretty much the same result i think.

Got a bucket load of captures on the Moon this morning also. Seeing wasn't too clever at all. About half my avis weren't good enough. Without the barlow life was easier and i got a good spread, probably enough to do a mosaic later on. I've just uploaded 1 set.

5fps:-post-23032-0-88780500-1354731313_thumb.p 10fps:-post-23032-0-94839200-1354731342_thumb.p 15fps:-post-23032-0-36214400-1354731372_thumb.p

There doesn't seem to be much difference in all 3. Perhaps the suspect seeing was to blame for the apparent parity. But during capture the 5fps videos looked very noisy and i wasn't to keen, so i will use 10fps for Lunar/ Solar now. But 5fps for planetary.

I had a few tries with Saturn too, but they were pretty darned awful with it being so low in a brightening sky.

Clear for most of the night here they say. So i'm going to try and get as much Jupiter data as i can. Will try another animation if i get good data.

Baz.
