Electrical sockets for obsy, recommendations please

Recommended Posts

Hi Dave, its a good thought, I'm personally going to install the electrics in the insulated warm room section of the obsy which probably won't have as much dew, but I guess if you get out door sockets then you can't go far wrong. I was originally thinking I would perhaps need outdoor sockets, then I was leaning towards indoor, I might reconsider to be on the safe side though. It does seem likey that you would get some dew in the open area so maybe outdoor sockets would be a good idea in this case?

Would it be just as good to have the RCD built into the sockets? These seem to have good reviews and they are water proof as a bonus.

better to have the rcd in the house to protect the cable as well, if you are going to keep it on a plug top you could use this http://www.screwfix.com/p/volex-2g-dp-rcd-skt/57865 in the house, it`s a bit cheaper not being water proof

Doh! it does seem a bit obvious now that an RCD at the obsy end would only protect the cables plugged into it and not the cable feeding it, Thanks for clarifying that for me:)

The link looks good thanks, it gives me a couple of options for the house end:)
