Does anybody know what thread the Celestron C6-SCT thumbscrews that are on the visual back?

As for exact size, I have no answer I'm afraid. Whip one out, measure the OD with a vernier or micrometer and look up the sizes on the net.

I think it depends on the age of the scope and where it was made.

US scopes tend to be UNF and Chinese scopes metric. Check before you try them in the scope however, as thread diameters will be similar but the pitch may vary.
