Which Setup would reveal the better images???

Hi All,

I'm in 2 minds about my imaging setup...so would appreciate some advice!

I have an ed80-DS-Pro, a Baader BCF Filter modded EOS 1000d DSLR, and a Celestron C8 SCT

My question is which would be the better setup in terms of quality...for deep sky!

The ED80-DS PRO and Modded EOS1000d

OR

The Celestron C8 SCT with Hyperstar and a Starlight MX716 Mono CCD?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

These are both very different setups and very different costs.

What mount are you using or considering ?

I should add that the equipment is only a factor in the results. Other factors such as sky quality & guiding accuracy would be important.

Ooof, where to begin? You want to do mono CCD withh a Hyperstar? How do you change filters? Honestly there are so many curved balls in your question that I'm stuck. Apart from the filters issue, Hyperstars are very good or very bad depending on who is trying to make them work. Starizona are not going to point out the extreme difficulty of working at F2 so I'll do that for them.

What would be wrong with the DSLR on the Hyperstar? DSLRs are at their best in fast systems and there are no filters to drive you insane.
