This was meant to be 60 x 45secs at ISO800 and F3.5, but the picture got the signature Ags treatment: in camera sharpening was left on (because you can never have too many black donuts around your stars, can you?) and 90% of the subs were clouded out. I tried to push up the saturation so that the red gas would look red, but I got a nasty color gradient instead.

Still, I'm quite pleased with this shot of the milky way. I do see a dust bunny on my sensor, lower right... grrr!

I did get some things right - F3.5 gives an even field illumination, so the skyfog can simply be subtracted (more or less) and I didn't have to resort to fake flats. And I think the framing was dead right. So another time, with a CLS filter, no sharpening, no clouds... I could have something!
