Astrophotography query

Hi all,

Which in your opinion would produce the better astro photos of deep sky objects out of the Celestron edge 11" HD or Tak FSQ106 ED? Assuming both are using a good quality ccd camera?

It would all depend on the target , The C11 would have a much smaller field of view compared to the Tak106 so would be better on the smaller objects.

Welcome to the forums Matt, At f/10 I wouldn't advise you use the native Edge for DSO imaging, for planetary work it's a killer though.

For astrophotography the usual preference in the kit order tends to start with the quality of the mount, followed by the camera and lastly the scope i.e you can get some good results witha good mount and a good camera with a poor scope but probably not so good with a poor mount and a good camera/scope combo.
