help with registax/photoshop

For this type of imaging using a Canon camera use stills, Registax does not care which is used.

This is a great tutorial for solar imaging and the same technique works for lunar imaging:

Though I would add that I would not recommend using JPEG images as the tutorial says, although they do work you will loose significant quality over using the raw files. However, Registax does not seem to like raw files so it is best to crop and convert them to TIFF files first using PIPP as shown in this tutorial:

And then load the resulting TIFF files into Registax as described in the solar imaging tutorial.

Also, I find I get better much results from Registax6 than Registax5.

I agree with Chris. I get better results from Registax v6 when it works. On occasions though it just doesn't seem to want to do the job and then I resort to v5 or to AutoStakkert!2. Usually I think it's because my data isn't really as good as it should be to start with, but sometimes you've just got to work with what you have :)
