I had a go at a widefield image of Cygnus on Sunday evening. 6 x 5 minute subs ( plus darks and bias ), with a Nikon D50, 18-55mm lens at 55mm and ISO 800. The bright Moon and frequent passing clouds made the evening difficult, but I ended up with an image I was happy with. The white band of the Milky Way extends through the centre of the image. For fun, I then searched the image against Stellarium, and marked the positions of star clusters ( yellow ) and nebulae ( green ).
