canon 400d help

Hi looking for help..when I attatch my 400d to my sw startravel 102 direct via t ring or via the extension tube/x2 Barlow I can't see stars in my camera eye piece...nice bright moon ect no probs.anybody have similar prob and how was this overcome...many thanks in advance Davy.

You won't see the fainter stars through your camera. Try pointing it to a bright star - for example Vega or Arcturus and check if you can see them. If not - something's obviously wrong. If you do see them, then try looking for slightly fainter stars, like in Ursa Major - fainter than Vega or Arcturus, but still a very bright constellation - and just see what are the faintest ones you can see. Focus on a bright star and that focus should be okay.
