Scope storage

Hi, I've just ordered a shed (6 x 4) for all my astro gear. For my 12 inch scope, am I better off standing it up, or lying it down across the back of the shed? I am just worried that during a dark night of getting other things I might bump in to and send it flying! Or, perhaps install hooks and bungie cords across the front to strap it in? Or am I being too paranoid, and freestanding at the back of the shed will be okay? Also, when free standing, it stands on the collimation bolts, should I mock up a rig of wood for it to stand on ( I simply place it on some foam at the moment, but that isn't really stable).

If you can bump into it then one night you will. Maybe the bungee cord idea isn't so far fetched. Most of my scopes lie horizontal in either their carry case of their original packagine.

My 4.3 inch has a hard case. My 8 inch, until sold, is in its box. But the 12 inch, perching on 3 collimation bolts... Gets me worried everytime I see an ant fart near it!!!
