Need Help

Well, if you want absolutely free then the only one I'm aware of is gphoto. I'm not sure it gives the level of control of APT or BYE and it may well only run on Linux. But to the best of my knowledge, those are your choices.

Assuming you're talking about DSO imaging then for processing Deep Sky Stacker and Gimp are the first two that spring to mind. I used no tutorials for these, but google may help there.

For camera control I know of no free software. The closest is Astrophotography Tool (APT) which encourages donation and has some features disabled unless you have paid. Again, I have no knowledge of any tutorials for this.

Also just a thought does the canon not come with control software for the camera to control shutter etc?? i am sure my 450d came with software? i will check and let you know

it does not give full control over camera like APT just tried it plan to purchase it now
