Help! My Red Dot Finderscope won't work :(

Hi all

Just looking for some advice . . .

My red dot finderscope isn't working - i have replaced the battery and tightened the on/off wheel screw but no joy :(

It works sometimes but only about 5% of the time, and when it does work, it cuts on and off and it is frustrating me cos it's making star finding all the more difficult :(

Any advice would be appreciated - it could be a problem with the connection perhaps?

If it is the sort with a watch battery inside i have had this problem.

I had to scrape off some of the anodising inside the battery cover to get a better contact.

Worked ok since then.

hope that may help

it's the same as above and yeah takes a watch like battery

I'll give that a go thanks and see what happens - i'm reading a lot of similar problems with this kind of red dot finder
