Help! My Red Dot Finderscope won't work :(

Hi all

Just looking for some advice . . .

My red dot finderscope isn't working - i have replaced the battery and tightened the on/off wheel screw but no joy

It works sometimes but only about 5% of the time, and when it does work, it cuts on and off and it is frustrating me cos it's making star finding all the more difficult

Any advice would be appreciated - it could be a problem with the connection perhaps?

If it is the sort with a watch battery inside i have had this problem.

I had to scrape off some of the anodising inside the battery cover to get a better contact.

Worked ok since then.

it's the same as above and yeah takes a watch like battery

I'll give that a go thanks and see what happens - i'm reading a lot of similar problems with this kind of red dot finder
