Baader Zoom 2.25x Barlow Configuration

I have discovered that the Baader zoom barlow can be mounted to the Baader 8-24 Mark III zoom in 2 different ways:

1) directly onto the 1.25" piece using the threads where a 1.25" filter would go - this lengthens the assembly quite a lot

2) in place of the 1.25" piece (where it would thread into) - much shorter

Which is the optimum and does it change the barlowing affect?

I hope my explanations are clear!

Thanks

Hey there,

I have the x2.5 Barlow and Baader Zoom III as well.

From what I understand you can change between slightly different amounts of zoom - I got my head around this via this great blog I follow:

I hope this helps - about 3/4 of the way down he explains variations of how to use the zoom and barlow together :)
