Hi all, was wondering if possible to video the meteor shower at all? Was thinking of pointing my ps3 eye cam up in general direction of NE on wide angle and filming for as long as the 'eye create' software will allow.

problem is will the cam actually pick them up as i have never pointed into the dark abyss before!

would it more beneficial to plug cam into pc and use sharpcap so settings can be tweaked or should i just sit back and use my in-built imaging system

I don't know if your camera is sensitive enough to capture meteors (there is probably only one way to find out). You may want to try HandyAvi http://www.azcendant.com/ which has a meteor detection option. Using this the software only records when a meteor passes across the field of view.

thanks Peter downloaded and all set, lets wait and see if it produces anything. leaving that just tick over out front of house whilst sitting in back garden with proper setup in comfy chair waiting for ISS pass later. M101 on agenda tonight inbetween meteor spotting!
