bri
Thought i would try a lunar mosaic for the first time last night after reading jgs001 tutorial. My main concern was to make sure I didn't 'underlap' the panels so i took a conservative approach. Thing is, 26 panels were used in the end, with care 8 probably would have been enough! Anyway started off with the shadow areas which look ok, however panning across the face, there seems to be a loss of focus.Initial focus was with a bahtinov and the scope was not touched afterwards. The atmosphere was wobbling but occasionaly settled...throughout the session.Cable was not snagged from the focuser but tube was not locked down either. (must remember to do that)Scope was cooled for apprx 15 mins at the time of the first few panels.Any ideas?overall, happy with the results.MS lifecam cinema HD at full res 30fps with the 150prough polar allignment2000 frames per panel but registax chucked loads out......overkill? nightfisher
very good first mosaic, i would suggest just tweaking the focus from one pane to the next, rather than locking it for the overall picture, i look forward to more of your lunar work, well done
