SONY NEX-3 HELP

Evening,

Just wondering, is there any way to extend exposures beyond 30 seconds with the Sony Nex 3? I know people are going to say, "You should have bought the Nex 5" but budget prevented it, so no remote shutter for me.

A solution would be using the bulb mode (you should then get 4 mins exposures), with the shutter triggered by a mechanical shutter like the ones used in very old SLR cameras.
