H-Alpha

I have a few questions about H-Alpha.......

  • Just as with a white light solar filter, can I get a H-Alpha filter or do I need an entirely new scope?
  • Do Coronado solar H-Alpha telescopes have the same eyepieces as other telescopes?
  • If H-Alpha is designed to see hydrogen then does that mean It can be applied to nebula that are rich in Hydrogen?

Hydrogen Alpha filters for photographing DSO's and those for solar work are completely different items and do not have a crossover use. Hydrogen Alpha scopes can use any normal eyepieces. Filters for Ha solar use or the bespoke telescopes for the purpose can be very expensive.
