Exploding Luna Eclipse

I suppose the artist's image is as good as anything, since we aren't there to see for ourselves. Could be worse, too.

Lower down is a picture of the MEO Observatory at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Apparently, they've switched out the 10" magnetic imager from the tall rolloff building in favor of a 14" SCT. I was there in 2000, and saw the SHS. The small dome at the foot of the tower held a 6" refractor with an unused HA filter that supposedly belonged to the University of Oklahoma. I generously offered to return it to them or, if they weren't ready, to store it for them. For some reason, they declined.

Maybe they were hoping you would borrow the Observatory to and were a tad disappointed:lol:

Yeah, that must be it. :) It wouldn't have fit in my luggage, though.
