Bresser 60mm F11 acro refractor

Hi all,

just bought one of these from Astroboot. Will this work as a guidescope? I have to ask because I can't test it due to the cloud cover.

Also wondering if it is possible to cut the tube down. It has 2 lenses at the front end and they are pretty easy to get out so I tested the main lens with an eyepiece out of the tube and got focus at around 350mm. Cant seem to get it to focus in the scopes assembled state unless I pull the eyepiece so its hanging out of the focuser.

Just as a tester, I am trying to focus on the furthest thing I can from the house but this is still probably only a couple of hundred feet away. Could this be the reason?

Any hints or help greatly appreciated.

At F11, it might have rather a small FOV, making finding a guide star harder, but in principle it should work
