Transit Of Venus - 5 June 12

After 20 hours of rain/clouds/wind the weather in northern California, USA, finally cleared in time to observe the Transit of Venus. In place well in time I was very pleased to see celestial mechanics work their magic as the disk of Venus began edging it's way into the glare of the sun. Over the next 30 minutes my four children, my wife, some of the kids' friends, and some people from work all came by for their time at the eyepiece. Everyone left pleased that they had seen with their own eyes this last-in-a-lifetime event. The attached pictures don't do the actual eyepiece viewing justice...but for a point and shoot camera I'm happy. Only cropped the images for size.

I hope the weather clears for you all in Europe.

Cheers.
