A newtonian is one type of a telescopes optical system.

Whereas Donsonian is a type of mount.

The dob in that picture is a newtonian :D

The advantages of a dob are that set up time is vurtially zero, but it's not suitable for long exposure photogrpahy (without modifications).

The dob will also not track at all and therefore the object will continue to move out of the FOV without you putting it back in.

Other's will be able to give more / better advice on equipment than me.
