The Royal Society podcasts include a recent lecture on the Venus Transit. Interesting stuff looking back at the history of astronomers recording the transit and the 18th century transits being the first example of global scientific cooperation (this being in the midst of the Seven Years War too).

There's plenty of other astronomy related podcasts in their back catalogue, all free.
