R.A. motor for EQ2

Hello all.

Im about to buy a RA motor. I have a sky-watcher 130mm f:900mm and an EQ2. I've come to know the EQ2 is not so stable for astrophotography, but its the one they gave me as a gift, so i'll give it a try for now with this set-up.

My question now is what RA motor to buy. I've seen 2 types, one with a single speed and a battery, very simple and straight forward (http://www.opticalvision.co.uk/astronomical_accessories/motor_drives_and_goto_upgrades/r.a._economy_motor_drive_for_eq2) and another one with more speeds and seemingly more robust (http://www.opticalvision.co.uk/astronomical_accessories/motor_drives_and_goto_upgrades/ra_motor_drive_for_eq2).

Bearing in mind that i have this set-up and maybe in one or 2 years i'll upgrade my mount (most likely) do you think i could do some astrophotography of DSO with the simple R.A. motor? Will the more complex motor offer me something more that is worth while within this set-up?

Thank you in advance, :(

Rui

Thanks guys! appreciate it...

I already ordered the multi-speed one.. anxiously waiting. Hope i can try some at least inspiring or motivating astro imaging with this setup (Sky-watcher 130mm, f: 870mm [cut the tube 3 cm for prime focus:P] , EQ2 with this motor and Canon 1000D)

Cheers,

Rui
