M51 in B&W with LP filter?

Last Tuesday I was able to try my new CLS astronomik LP filter and I spent nearly 3 hours imaging M51 at 6', 7' and 10' subs. Then I put everything in DSS, aligned the RGB chanels and went on to PS to stretch the histogram. Well, this is what I got . Where has the colour gone? I'm so disappointed! and worst ... I don't have a clue about how to fix this. Funnily enough, the picture came up from DSS with some colour in it but all I'm left with now is a B&W picture. Could anyone here imaging with a LP filter be kind enough to give me a hand with this? Is it easy to fix or should I go for a custom white balance?

Sorry to hear that Pix mybe badger can help you out with this one as I dont have a light pollution filter at the moment.

Thanks QM, I'm experimenting now with different settings in DSS but I could really do with some help!
