scope 127mm skywatcher. camera canon 1100d (not modified) prime focal shot.

ok this is my first pic (well a pic from a shoot of pics) but the first pic from my new camera to be shown here. so i have a question, wirh this being a prime focus shot, how do i get a full image of say the sun or moon within the frame of the camera view panel. thank you

Well done! To get the whole disc you basically have two choises: Take two pictures and make a mosaic of them (Microsoft ICE is free and works well for this) or get a focal reducer. (The 127 Mak hs a longish focal length which is why you can't get the whole disc on the frame). Personally I would go the mosaic way - quite easy to do and doesn't cost anything (I'm a meany!!)

thank you bizibuilder, yes the 127mm has a 1500mm focal length, i shall have a look at microsoft ICE
