Can I file it down

Recommended Posts

Because of the weather I've been keeping busy by stripping down my scope to see how it all works. I've felt that my focuser to be a bit agricultural in use and when I stripped it down I noticed two wear marks made by the axle. Now the flat on the draw tube which the axle runs against isn't flat it's concave, so is it "safe" to flatten it, it should improve the friction and make for a smoother action, I think......or am I wrong?

Gary.
