Hi

So I got a little white dovetail with my mount about 12cm long.

Is there a way I could turn this into a dovetail for my 200mm dslr lens with a collar ??

You just need a screw with the same thread as for a tripod, don't you?

I robbed a suitable bolt and locknut from one of my Skywatcher mount rings. Otherwise, ebay might be worth a look.

I really should get a collar myself, but I broke out in a cold sweat last time I saw how much they cost.

Camera/tripod thread is 1/4UNC or whitworth. Various screws/bolts are easily bought from ebay. General nut/bolts rather than 'phot/scope' screws are cheap enough. Harley m/bikes are full of UNC bolts!

I have used a plastic scope clamp, a few ££ from the Astroboot, with thin foam packing to hold a lens. Useful with a very old and heavy lens on a light modern camera body.
