Transit of Venus near Scarborough?

Anyone in the area know where the best place to view this will be? Easily accessible by car (with parking) and open to the public at 5am.

Presumably a clear view to the horizon is required, but as this area is on a cliff to start with and quite hilly will anywhere inland be able to see it, or does it have to be looking out to sea?

Not from the area, but have been looking at prospective sites, what about Marine Drive? seems to be ample parking and an unobstructed view out to the N/E

I had wondered about that location but for two things... that wall is surprisingly high, I'm not sure if my EQ1 would see over it enough, also I would have preferred a countryside location out of the town.

Perhaps I will have to peruse the Google Street View a bit more.

Would the top of staxton hill be suitable?

There is a pay and display carpark (with toilets). Almost certain a clear NE view.
