I'm sad the Shuttle will never fly again. In the role it was built for that is. Remarkable success story, in spite of the two tragic losses, which in hindsight should not have happened.

It's a good picture but should it really be an APOD? Only very loosely astronomy-related...

(I notice that today's APOD is a picture of the 'green flash'. Now that's strictly speaking an atmospheric effect, but certainly more linked to astronomy than yesterday's)
