i asked a question similar to this a while ago (but the canon IS) the consensus then was it would be really really good for AP as it would take away the majority of the shakes (i struggle to hold a 8 X 40 pair steady and im only 23) but there was also the consensus that small ones might not be suitable

iv seen the sony ones on ebay and their design interested me

i dont think the digital recording feture will be any good though in low light (it may say it is but i would love to see some astronomy results, i would imagine its more designed for badger or fox watching)
