Which telescope to buy

Hi all, I'm new to stargazing a telescopes, and I am looking to buy a decent telescope for around £200 - £300. I have looked all over the net, but I am more confused than I was in the first place, I would like to look at planets and constellations, can anyone pls advise me which is the best telescope to buy.
