what tripod/mount for SW Travelscope 70?

I've just got my Travelscope 70 and made sure that the supplied tripod is useless (as expected).

I've got the impression that Travelscope 70 is quite widespread, so I'd like to know what mount the owners of this scope use?

I don't think the travelscope 70 is widespread and probably make it to the list of scope one should avoid.

Anyway, it weights similar to a spotting scope, so a good photography tripod will be ideal. Recommendations include Manfrotto 190 or Giottos 9251, or if you are on a budget, a Horizon 8115 should work too.

The scope itself is pretty good if you want to observe starfields. Its not much good with planets. It never claimed to be good with them.

I use mine on a Horizon 8115 tripod. Makes it rock steady and lovely to use.
