traded my 200p dob as i wanted a lighter kit and got the etx90 [the one with autostar and LNT] for less than 100 quid after trade ,seen some review's and the scope optic's get great review's ,it's light convenient and easily put together with the goto and auto align so for dark site's and a grab and go seem's ideal ,or have i made a mistake , [as we have no clear skie's havent tried it on the sky yet [but only realy like planet watching so will it be good enough [or should i resell it??]

You might find the aperture a wee but small after your 8" Dob.

Resolution won't be as good and will only be able to cope with much lower magnifications dye to the light grasp.

The 200p and the etx are both nice scopes.

At f13.8 the etx is good for planets and as you said it's light, small and portable.

I certainly wouldn't trade it in before using it - even if you don't get on with it at first it's going to take some time to get used to it (months not days) and figure out how to get goto aligned etc..
