Does anyone know if the optics are the same in these two..

I can only speculate...but i suspect they are the same...or at least very close in performance.

What i know is many companies buy the same stuff but just have it branded as their own and sell it as their own too.

my personal opinion, its the same.

They look similar proportions. The key with a barlow is that it's really well light baffled, which the Ultima is. Sometimes lower cost "clones" skimp a bit on coating quality, baffling and internal blackening.

The Antares 2" 1.6x is a superb barlow though and looks like an Ultima on steroids - I would guess they came from the same manufacturer.

Thanks guys. My 1.6x Antares was used in part exchange for a 10mm XW. I replaced it with a 2x Powermate and then sold it to fund a 7mm XW I now have another Antares 1.6x winging its way from Scopestuff in the states. This one won't be going anywhere
