i,v just bought sky map pro for my iPhone . incredible app, much better than all the other ones i tried. A bit expensive at £13.50 but it seems to have everything.

Does anyone else use these apps? I have tried a phillips star chart

but these seem so handy, it even includes a red light .

Does it seem like cheating? I think the its good as i tend to use it less as i get to know various stars and constellations.

I'm on android but i use a few similar apps, i don't think it's cheating, it's just astronomy in the 21st century. I love looking at star charts but in my opinion when you're outside in pitch darkness these apps which are also red backlit are a godsend.
