Revised Astrotrac Wedge

I've found 2 different versions of the Astrotrac wedge on websites. Compared with what is on the Astrotrac site, some pictures show a version with brass, rather than stainless, adjuster knobs and shafts, slightly different side plates and a mounting plate with a different profile, which seems smaller and thicker.

I presume that Astrotrac is showing the newer version. Can anyone shed light on when the change took place and whether there are any specific advantages or disadvantages associated with either version?
