Sorry I am at work at the moment on my phone so in till i get to my laptop i can't look at it very well, plus waiting to see if anyone has likeused a normal camera with a scope.

yes you can use a normal point and shoot camera to image the moon, its known as A-focal imaging, and works best with a digiscope adaptor, this clamps the camera to the eyepiece

I was messing on with my little Kodak camera the other night, and I discovered it's possible to manually set the ISO, and shutter settings. You can set the shutter to a maximum of 8 seconds on it, and ISO to 1600. Is there hope for this camera for basic DSO imaging? It's only a £90 compact camera.

Should work fine, especially if you're just shooting the moon, Si.

I took a few of the full moon the other night through my phone - just pointing it at the EP using default settings. It's not awesome, but (to my eye) it's not dreadful either.

Trying with my phone made me think of it as some point I will upgrade but just need something till then just worried about the weight
