Bright light on the Moon

Recommended Posts

Hi to all, i have just been looking at the moon with my powerseeker 114mm eq telescope ,and was wondering what the bright light is reflecting on the moon ,as i look at it, it is on the right middle to top side and very clear ,Brian

I was viewing it earlier with my vintage telescope - could only make out the detail/craters around the diameter edge of the Moon, the central area was simply too bright to observe any detail :)

Think i see what you mean... About the 9 oclock position... Having looked at a moon map, i think it's aristarchus.

Hi and yes it is at the 9 oclock position ,i am new to this but i have been watching it for a while and it is quite clear ,i hope it is aristarchus. thanks for the info,Brian.

You can see it in this image, at the 3 oclock position (guess he's using a reflector).
