Canon A800 Compact Camera - 1/2.3" CCD - CHDK? 10 Mpx

Hello all

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with that compact camera. It looks like it has a 1/2.3" CCD sensor / 10 Mpx and it's relatively cheap (less then 60 euro at Argos).

I thought it could be started with the CHKD firmware (it's been just released for the A800) and, removing the lens, could be used as a handy CCD imager to take long exposures in raw or maybe even as planetary as the sensor doesn't seem very big. It can also take videos so I thought it could be good for planets without the need of a PC+Webcam, just not sure about the sensor size. What do you think folks?

Does anyone have any modding experience with that camera or similar? What is the feasibility and requirements for using a modded compact camera?
