NGC3690 (Arp299) extremely deep image

Hello once again,

While still trying to keep off the beaten path, here is the result from last night's 31 x 10 minutes subs. It's a couple of colliding galaxies in U Maj 0.8' by 1' wide, 130 Millions light year away, so let's just say it's really ancient light w're looking at here...

Notice the tiny bared spial to he right. On the full size image you can also see a galay viewed from the side to the north-east. It's very thin (a few pixels) and dim.

It's certainly off the beaten path and what a fantastic image. To think that the light from those galaxies set out 130 million years ago is quite staggering. Great image , especially noting the scale, it must be near the top end in difficulty. :)

Put it this way, it's like trying to do planetary astronomy with 10 min subs. You're overly dependant on seeing, and guiding has to be flawless. And titan worm screw are pretty bad. But what's the point to have 4 Meters worth of focal length from a perfectly good telescope to do M81? Which I did do, by the way:o.
