SW folding dob

Hi folks

Are there any disadvantages with a folding Dob compared to a one piece tube?

I have done a lot of research and have decided to get a SW 8'' dob . Every review of the SW 200 Dobsonian is very positive and they are within my wallet parameters. I just wondered if there are differences between the two types of OTA with regards to observation.

The flex tube dobs are slightly heavier than the solid tube versions. They really should have a light shroud over the trusses. They don't hold collimation quite as well as the solid tubes. The cost a fair bit more than the solid tubes with no increase in optical performance.

I am not really a fan of truss dobs until you get to 12" or bigger (does it show ) Then modular construction makes sense to make them easier to transport.
