Celestron GPS Help Please

I have the Celestron 114 LCM scope, and have just bought the GPS ad-on for this scope, has anyone used this ad-on if so how does it work? do I need to keep system powered up 24/7 as I keep finding I had to keep entering my Time/Date each time I use my telescope.

Is this GPS thing going to help me a little, or a lot?

You don't have to keep it powered up any longer than the length of the session in which you're using it. It only works outdoors and away from electrical fields.

It just saves you having to input your coordinates each time. you plug it in for your session and it will input time date and coordinates for you

They take a little while to 'light up' and whilst this is going on the handset will ask you to verify your co-ordinates and you should see a message saying 'GPS Searching'. Be patient and after a few mins you should see the time and location info pop up on the handset.

I haven't bothered with GPS for my scope, I just have an app for my phone which gives me my location where ever I am and I just type that in to the handset.
