Mounting a finderscope

Hi all,

I am thinking about getting a finderscopeto add to my set up which one would you recommend and what is the best way to mount it and still keep my RDF on my 114mm scope?

If the scope uses Skywatcher tube rings, buy a second (standard) dovetail bar and attach it "on the top". You may have to drill-out the threaded holes to M6 etc., and "improvise a bit", but you can then attach a standard finder "shoe" to the second bar... And whatever finder you fancy!

Leave the light-weight RDF in situ and mount the (typically) heavier optical finder near the balance point of the system. You might eventually upgrade the RDF? Re. OPTICAL finders, I find the typical RACI finder useful:
