M101 Widefield

One of my favourite DSOs. This is my 2nd astro image and was really started as a test for my guiding setup which I'm happy to say I'm really pleased with. 5x600 sec subs stacked with darks in DSS no flats or bias. Very rudimentary processing in PS which I will be playing with over the next few nights ( I can only image at weekends ) The image was cropped a little from the original and I'm starting to feel the urge for Greater aperture / FL but considering it was taken with an unmodded DSLR I'm reasonably chuffed with it.

I'm about to put up my 2nd ever astrophoto too, with somewhat similar equipment but this image is sooo much better. It shows the advantage of guiding and having a good enough mount!
