moon filter

Recommended Posts

Hi Claire,

I fully agree with Jules's recommendation of a ND 096 Neutral Density filter, it reduces the glare without materially effecting the grey shades on the Moon.

I use a Meade ND 96 (0.9) which gives a 13% reduction of the glare, a ND 96 (0.6) filter would reduce it by 25%.

I think a green Moon would look a bit cheesy!!!

The green filter sometimes helps with Mars and Jupiter.

Remember to get a filter that has the same diameter as your eyepieces....

Cheers
