Thanks to CLAYTON for reminding me i could try imaging this way.

Look at this beauty like the hunchback of webcam world

Anyways.. i have been watching videos on youtube about stacking images and i think ive absorbed it all in, so im just wondering is there any specific software package that people use to capture the footage or do i just use the software that came with the webcam, and this might seem like a dumb question but it will shoot at 1080p so do i record at the highest resolution it will go or is lower better?

Most people tend to use Sharpcap, Wxastrocapture, K3ccdtools or similar software that was specifically written for astro photography. The capture resolution should be the maximum native resolution for the camera, not an interpolated resolution. What webcam was that ?

It was a Logitech c500 not sure what the native resolution is tho

The C500 appears to have a video resolution of 1280x1024, should be ok.
